What do companies value most in their staff?

One of the aspects that companies value most in their staff is a positive attitude, above other aspects such as training, according to data extracted from a survey carried out by the personnel selection company Etalentum.

This survey is called “1st Etalentum Survey”, and it is a pioneering study, which compares the opinions of companies and workers on the work environment, and the data shows that 52% of companies value, above any other aspect, that workers have a positive attitude and a good predisposition to work, 38% value experience, and only 6% find training essential.

These are data that can be linked to logic, since a positive attitude oriented to learning and improving every day can be an element that encourages that person to learn what they need to be able to advance, and continue doing their job as well as possible, since in this life learning is a constant process that never ends.

If we look at the other perspective, that of the staff, it seems that what they value most when choosing a job is the salary, the working hours, the organization of tasks, and also that the job is stable.

The data from the aforementioned survey also shows that 49% of job candidates highly value the fact that the company provides them with training, however, only 29% of managers believe that workers take this into account when evaluating a job offer.

It is also noteworthy that once the employment relationship has begun, companies highly value commitment, professionalism, and the ability to adapt, while staff believe that the most relevant thing when evaluating them is their problem-solving skills, although they also see the ability they may have to adapt to a new place or situation as very important.
