The coronavirus crisis has made teleworking the order of the day, and many companies and workers are resorting to this modality to continue with their work activity, but what previously represented a very small percentage is growing every time, and it is predicted that it will continue to do so, therefore it will be necessary to regulate a series of aspects that are being debated.
One of the first issues that the future Teleworking Law will address will be the compensation of the expenses assumed by people who telework, such as work materials, internet connection, supplies, there are even those who defend that the company should also assume the expenses of cleaning, and ergonomic work furniture.
It will also be important to ensure equal opportunities and promotion, between people who continue to physically go to the workplace, and those who do it from home. Occupational risks arising from physical or mental fatigue, the use of screens and isolation are other issues that the Law will address.
And a particularly important issue is the distribution and organization of working hours, since it is necessary to establish limits and maximum and minimum hours worked, as well as breaks, which allow for a normal working day and with the possibility of making working hours more flexible.
Privacy will also have to be regulated, and the new Law will have to guarantee the rights of the worker in this regard, but it will also have to take into account that organizations can carry out some type of control to guarantee that the contract signed between the two parties is complied with.
