In search of a better salary

It seems that in a work environment as complex as the current one, one of the main reasons for changing jobs is the search for a better salary, since according to experts in the human resources sector, you can earn between €5,000 and €10,000 more per year, depending on the degree of expertise, the job position, the sector and job qualifications.

It seems that during the last year the resignations of workers with permanent contracts have skyrocketed by 153%, and according to experts consulted by “elEconomista”, these resignations correspond to a change of job, and therefore with goals of improvement both professionally and in terms of salary.

As a result, voluntary turnover in jobs has skyrocketed, and this represents a very important change in areas in which stable qualified work was the majority, but in all this, temporary work also has a very important weight.

According to Alex Cofin, director for Spain of Walters People, the average time spent in a job by a qualified professional, in leading sectors, has been reduced to one year and six months, although this figure is strongly affected by the high turnover in the technology sector, which affects 25% of the workforce.

It seems that the age of the worker also has a very important weight, since “millennials” are much more likely to change jobs, despite the risk that short stays in a job pose to their CV, but on the other hand they feel compensated by salary increases of up to €6,000.

There is a noticeable difference with older workers, who, since they tend to have more family responsibilities, are only willing to change jobs for increases of up to €20,000.

Better salary

What is clear is that in a job market like the current one, companies must be fast and flexible, and with workday and project management systems like Timenet, this can be done easily and economically.
