In most cases, the location privacy settings on devices are already enabled by default. In other cases, however, devices deny location access with the settings disabled.

In any case, below we will see how to activate location for timenet and thus be able to have geolocated markings for both Android and iOS.

Activate location on iOS systems (iPhone and iPad)

En els sistemes operatius d'Apple, és molt fàcil revisar si el sistema admet les solicituds d'ubicació. Segueix els següents passos per activar la localització a iOS:

  1. Go to "Settings" > "Privacy" > "Location".
  2. Make sure "Location" is enabled.
  3. Scroll down until you find "Safari" or "Websites in Safari".
  4. Tap it and select the following option so that timenet can request your location:
    • When the app is in use: allow access to "Location" only when timenet is on screen.
  5. If everything is configured correctly, when you access the marker for the first time and record a marker, you should be asked for access to the location, which you should allow so that the system can record the location.

If these steps still do not register your location correctly in timenet, you can try resetting your location settings and retrying the previous steps. To reset your location settings, follow these steps:

  1. Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Reset".
  2. Tap the "Reset Location & Privacy" option.
  3. The device will ask for the security code and confirmation.

Steps to follow Android

Follow the steps below by opening the bookmarklet in your Google Chrome browser (avoid opening the bookmarklet from the home page icon). First, make sure that your device's general "Location" is turned on.

  1. Open the bookmark in Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the browser options icon (three vertical dots) which is usually in the top right corner of the screen and then click on "Settings".
  3. Scroll down to find the "Website Settings" > "Privacy" option and check the webpage "https://timenet.gpisoftware.com" which has the following permission granted:
  4. Location Access: "Allow".
  5. Returning to the bookmark page you should now have "Location" enabled and working. If this is your first time accessing the bookmark and recording a bookmark, you should see the location access request which you should "Allow".

There is another way to access the same configuration point.

  1. Open the bookmarklet in Google Chrome.
  2. Click the lock icon to the left of the URL.
  3. A window will open where at the bottom there should be a link to "Website Settings".
  4. Check that the location value is:
    • Location access: "Allow".
