7 out of 10 companies consider it difficult to apply the Time Control Law

According to the Hays “Labor Guide 2019”, 7 out of 10 companies consider it difficult to apply the Time Control Law, and even 84% of professionals interviewed assure that there has been no change in their working hours. According to this source, the Law that requires the mandatory recording of the working hours of the entire company workforce, does not convince either workers or organizations.

This consultancy has produced this Guide through a study in which the opinions of 6,400 professionals have been collected, and it highlights the fact that the opinion of the company and the workforce are often opposed, such as the fact that organizations think that the most important thing for their workers is working conditions, but for them what counts most is the salary.

Following the data provided by this “2019 Hays Labor Guide”, it seems that only 48% of professionals consider that the new Law favors them, while 17% believe that it penalizes them; it seems that 55% of those interviewed continue to claim that they work overtime for which they are neither paid nor compensated.

What most of the workers interviewed agree on, specifically 73%, is that they would like to have more flexible working hours to be able to more easily combine the different facets of their lives.

What also seems complicated for the workforce is achieving “disconnection”, since only 34% declare that they are not dependent on mobile phones or laptops outside of their working hours, although in contrast, companies declare that 60% of their workers have no problems disconnecting.
